Square Root Day

Another great Geek Holiday, just like Pi Day. But, while you can celebrate Pi Day twice a year (0n March 14; 3/14 and July 22; 22/7 is Pi Approximation Day), Square Root Day happens only nine times in a century! So, the last time was on February 2 2004 (Groundhog Day), This year it was on March 3, and the next time it will be on April 4, 2016.
Square Root Day is celebrated when both the day of the month and the month are the square root of the last two digits of the year. It is more or less invented by Ron Gordon,
who enjoys calender quirks – he’s tried to get schools to celebrate Square Root Day since 1981.(Mental Floss)

Comics
As a kid, I was told that it was not good to read comics. All the same, I like to read, and I read whatever has text in it: books, magazines, newspapers, feeds, subtitles (when watching a movie in Russian of Japanese
) as well as comics. Why not.
I’m not afraid for the good old treeware version of books, but I see no harm in reading digital version either. With comics I prefer reading it on the web: comics are relatively expensive and a too easy read to justify the purchase. So, what’s on my comics-blogroll?
- xkcd.com: A webcomic of romance and math humor.
- User Friendly the Comic Strip
- FreakAngels: A free webcomic by Warren Ellis and Paul Duffield.
- Dilbert.
Now I have the ComicRack eComic reader; “the ITunes for eComics”. Not that I ever use ITunes – I hate it, there are much better solutions for playing my media. Now I need more comics:
